A Russian couple operating a cryptocurrency business was kidnapped in Buenos Aires’ Palermo district and forced to pay $43,000 in digital assets as ransom. The assailants, identified as Chechens, fled to the United Arab Emirates after the transaction.

The incident highlights growing security concerns for high-net-worth crypto holders. French authorities recently arrested 12 individuals involved in similar crypto-related kidnappings, signaling a troubling trend of targeted violence against digital asset investors.
